My name is Aiswarya R. I am a final year B.com student with a keen interest and passion for Digital Marketing. Currently doing a part-time Digital Marketing internship at IPSR Solutions Limited for the last 6 months. Moreover, I have got the chance to represent Kerala in the National Netball Championship and State Basketball Championship.
It was during my first year in college, I started feeling ashamed to ask for money from my parents to fulfill my small wishes. I was a person who loved to take part in competitions, seminars, hang out with friends and all. But slowly I started to take a step back because of this reason. And that’s when I first thought of doing a part-time job. I started searching for internships, part-time work from home jobs, Data entry jobs and couldn’t find a genuine one. And then I learned about the Internshala website, which provides paid internships for students. Without wasting any time, I created a profile and started searching for jobs.
I was not happy because I couldn’t find anything that suits me. But I came to notice a huge demand for social media marketers and digital marketers. I loved managing my social profiles, especially Instagram. So I applied for many but didn’t get a response as I had no skill or experience in that field. That’s when I realized that you can’t get a job until and unless you have a skill based on it. After searching for social media marketing courses and seeing the huge amount of fees, I dropped that plan but had an urge to know more about it.
During my second year in college, the Covid breakout happened and the lockdown started. Our teachers started to encourage us to do online courses and suggested everyone enroll in the free social media marketing course offered by IPSR. Without any hesitation, I applied and got the chance to learn the basic lessons of SMM for free. And that was a start of an unexpected turning point in my career life.
I joined for basic SMM classes, got selected for an internship, and again after that they promoted the top 5 to the second level internship where we got to learn the whole SMM Module for free. I am happy and proud to say that I was the topper of that batch. After a telephonic interview, IPSR asked me to join as a trainee with a performance-based stipend and Free access to the Digital Marketing course.
Since the day I joined IPSR, I have had a strong curiosity to learn more about Digital Marketing. And I am happy that I discovered my true passion in career life. I aspire to learn more and to complete a professional master’s from abroad in Digital Marketing in the near future.
